A big date complication is a feature that displays the date in two large digits instead of the traditional single digit found on most watches. The big date complication works by using two date disks, one with the numbers 0 – 3, and the other with the numbers 0 – 9 l. The disks are controlled by a separate gear system that allows them to jump simultaneously at midnight. This mechanism is more complicated than a single date system, as it requires more parts and precise alignment.
