Our Story

L’ORO Jewellery is based on a long-standing family tradition founded on a passion for excellence. L’ORO’s founder, Vahram Derian, fostered this convention when he first began in the jewellery business over half a century ago. Derian’s lifelong experience in jewellery manufacturing started with his apprenticeship at age of 13. He was determined to transform his vast knowledge and experience into a company whose name is synonymous with quality, honesty, and elegance. The result was becoming a market leader in the luxury sector serving the Greater Toronto Area since 1984.

Derian has been committed to his uncompromising principles to develop L’ORO into a retailer renowned for its eminence, integrity, and class throughout the Greater Toronto Area. By carrying a wide range of collections, such as Chopard, Omega, Hublot, and Breitling and offering an uncompromised commitment to the customer, Derian has garnered an unrivaled customer service experience.

The goal was to cumulate, cultivate, and serve a regular clientele that marveled not only at his assortment of name-brand designs but of his impeccable ability to create custom pieces of the highest quality.

Demonstrating an enthusiastic interest for jewellery and a keen eye for detail from an early age, Haigo Derian decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. He began receiving formal training throughout his youth to hone his talent and perfect his craft. Studying all aspects of the business, Haigo learned not only how to handle jewellery, but to professionally and proficiently address customers’ needs.

The family continues, with Haigo Derian, Vahram’s son continuing the Derian family legacy.

The company is now run by Haigo, President, and his best friend, Jeff Karadjian, Vice President. Together they search the world and attend the most important shows, visit suppliers directly around the world, and to find the absolute best and unique products to bring in store.
